Our mission to promote generational family farming has caught fire in the hearts of our customers. We’re excited to be a voice in the growing conversation about source transparency, animal welfare, and the future of farming in America. We’re honored to support the hardworking farmers who provide us with healthy meals, and we feel privileged to work among so many passionate individuals towards such a noble cause.

Our dynamic team is expanding! We’re delighted to announce two exciting changes to the Shenandoah Valley Organic Executive Leadership Team.

Dorothy Muszynska is the new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and Jefferson Heatwole’s new role is Chief Sales Officer (CSO).

With over 15 years of marketing experience in the food industry, Dorothy has worked with large publicly-traded companies, as well as the entrepreneurial environment of family-owned and private businesses.

Dorothy has relocated to Harrisonburg from Chicago and is originally from Poland. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, International Business and Spanish from Marquette University; and an MBA in Marketing and Strategy from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

During her career, Dorothy has created and implemented successful marketing plans, launched new brands into new channels, and worked with CEO’s and Boards of Directors to define strategic direction and organizational identity. She’s worked in both retail and foodservice channels, leading cross-functional teams from concept creation to execution—delivering measurable results. She brings an energetic, roll-up-your-sleeves approach to marketing and firmly believes that strategy must come before tactics to have effective marketing plans.

Jefferson started with SVO in 2014. Since then, he has worn many hats and is responsible for multiple SVO successes and milestones. He’s been the driving force behind the branded product sales strategy and initiated the new product development program. Over the last two years, he spearheaded the charge in doubling our sales!


Jefferson’s passion for sales and customers, along with his hi-energy and ambitious nature, make him a perfect fit for the Chief Sales Officer (CSO) role. In this position, Jefferson will continue to lead the Sales, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams. Additionally, he will be heavily involved in new product development as well as business development.
